Four to five days a week…a new routine

There is a reason why I haven’t posting much on my blog lately (I will be doing some major catching up the next few days, by the way!).  Tae kwon do fever has hit the Kim household…and it’s become a surprisingly welcome new routine for our family.  We’ve enrolled them at a wonderful dojang called Sky Martial Arts Family Center in Murrieta, CA (the main school is located in Los Angeles). Both our sons have signed up for Black Belt Club which is a 3-year commitment towards earning their black belt.

Evan started in January and Marcus followed just recently.

I was pleasantly surprised that Marcus wanted to continue because he’s my more “reserved, quiet, shy” son.  When Marcus told me he wanted to do the 3-year program I knew we were on to something!  The instruction and motivation from Master Jeon and the instructors as well as the support from other parents have really made a difference in just a few short months.

Evan was promoted to yellow belt on March 11(his best friend Brandon was promoted to Blue Stripe. He and his mom were the ones who introduced us to Sky Martial Arts Family Center).

Evan asked Master Jeon to sign his board that he broke doing the hammer fist.  I was able to hold the board while my son broke it…pretty AWESOME!!

So this is what we’ve been up to and it’s been a joy!  I am a proud momma!  Daddy’s pretty excited, too Smile.

Please come back and visit tomorrow as I’ll be posting a scrapbook page for this month’s ODBD Let Your Light Shine Challenge (ODBDLYLS3).
