CDS Final Day of Sneak Peeks and my Farewell

Today is the last day of CDS new stamp set previews...and also my last day of being on their DT. The cards I made used the sets Winter Eskimo, Thoughtful Notes and Chocoholic. They are fantastic and very versatile sets so make sure to stop on by Clear Dollar Stamps to get yours!

Thank you to Lori McCrosky and Laurie Wilson for turning my October Guest DT stint into a quarter term...it's been fun! Much success to you and your DT!

I have decided to design for just one company, the ever fabulous Our Daily Bread Designs! Kelley has been and continues to be an inspiring mentor (if you're reading this Kelley, YES! You've been utterly TERRIFIC!!).

A Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge

I'm so bad when it comes to doing the different challenges on Splitcoast Stampers. I decided I need to start doing at least one challenge a week...we'll see how that goes! This was Wednesday's sketch challenge:

I love the layout on this and I knew I wanted to work with Advent colors for the I Wait For The Lord set from Our Daily Bread Designs . I used Sugar Plum, Pink and Mocha Shimmerz to accent the candles and pinecones. ODBD will soon offer Shimmerz so be on the look out for those because they are fantastic! For the candle flames I used yellow Liquid Pearls.

Stitching, punches, hatpin, ODBD...oh my!

I told you I'd be back with more Our Daily Bread Designs cards! Well, actually, I'm just posting one card tonight. You'll have to come back tomorrow to see the other ODBD card. Pretty sneaky of me, right?

I used the Worship the Lord set which was released at the beginning of this month. Aside from the beautifully detailed images in all ODBD sets, the scriptures and sentiments are also wonderfully written in fancy lettering which makes for a truly elegant look with very little effort! This is why I chose to make the scripture the focal point for this particular card.
As always...thank you all for stopping by! It really puts a smile on my face to know you take the time to visit my blog and leave comments!!

Cards Featuring ODBD!

Kelley from Our Daily Bread Designs was so kind as to send me the two newest sets she just released at the beginning of this month, even though I wasn't able to be a part of the sneak peeks. Thank you Kelley for believing that I will totally make up for lost stamping time with ODBD!!!

For both cards I used the I Wait for the Lord set which feature an Advent Wreath and, as always, beautiful scriptures.

As you can tell from my cards, I love Nestabilities and my Martha Stewart craft punches! All pattern papers are from Basic Grey.

Please come back tomorrow for more cards featuring Our Daily Bread Designs!

Scrapbook Frame

I love making scrapbook pages and framing them as gifts for family and friends. I made this 12x12 page for my sister-in-law as part of her Christmas present (I wanted something to accompany a gift card we got her!). I've always been partial to sepia and black and white photos because it allows you to play with a wide array of color combinations and no matter how much layering and embellishing you do the photo still remains the focal point.

Also, do you see that BEAUTIFUL watermark on my photo? The fabulous Jami Bova created that! Isn't she amazing?! I asked her to create it for me and gave her free reign on the design and she just blew me away! Stop on by her blog and tell her I sent you!

Thank you sooooooo much Jami!!! You RAWK GIRL!

An ODBD Christmas

Jesus is the reason for the season and Our Daily Bread Designs proudly displays that with all the Christmas stamp sets. I was up late cleaning my craft room and after I was done, I looked at my cleared off stamping table and thought....I need to make a card!

With all the shopping and decorating I've been doing for Christmas I wanted to create a card that showed why we celebrate Dec. 25 - the birth of Jesus. Joy to the World is the set I reached for because the image of the Holy family is just so beautiful. It has so many meanings to me - birth, rebirth, faith, family. Just when I thought the ache in my heart from losing my father-in-law was too unbearable he gave me something special from above....he gave me back my brother and his family. He gave me an early Christmas present, a gift I'll hold on to dearly.

I hope you enjoy this card.........
