My last card as a SFYTT Guest Sister

October seems to have blew in and flew out, didn't it? Today is my last day of being a guest for Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try team and I have had so much fun playing with all her sketches! Thank you so much, Jen, for allowing me to work with you and the rest of the SFYTT Sisters!

I thought about making a Halloween card for this week's sketch, but I couldn't help but gravitate towards the upcoming ODBD stamp set Christmas Verses. The fonts on this set are utterly gorgeous!!

Do you recognize the layer beneath the oval? That's the Spellbinders Classic Frame die that I cut the middle out and created a nice little decorative frame for my oval. I've also included a new indulgence of mine, Zva Creative Pearls!! They peel off easily from their backing and are a breeze to apply...no twisting and tangling! GOTTA LOVE THAT!

Come back tomorrow for a look at the November ODBD collection and BLOG HOP!

Card Recipe:

Stamp: ODBD Christmas Verses

Ink: Versamark

Paper: SEI Dust of Snow, SU Bravo Burgundy cs

Accessories: Spellbinders (Classic Frame, Small Oval), Zva Creative soft pink Flourishes Frame, gold organza ribbons, gold cord, Ranger Super Fine ep

Almost to the end of my SFYTT Guest stint

Is it just me or is October just going by so fast? It's hard to believe my time with the SFYTT Sisters is almost at a close, but not just yet! Here's my card for this week's sketch challenge. I wanted to make a more masculine card because it's so difficult for me to do. Go figure, since I live in a house full of boys! I hope I came close to achieving a more "manly" card using only part of the image from the With Deepest Sympathy set: I added Waterfall Stickles for the water because I wanted a sparkling and inviting lake. Another great idea would be to create a winter scene and having a frozen lake! Check out Angella's awesome card over at the ODBD blog to see her icy lake.

Please note: The ODBD blog will have a new home soon so please make sure to update your blog rolls accordingly so you don't miss out on anything. You may also start Following the new ODBD blog now.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: ODBD With Deepest Sympathy, Thinking of You

Ink: StazOn black, Walnut Distress, SU Bordering Blue

Paper: Prismatic (Suede Brown, Spring Willow), SU Pacific Point, Canson Watercolor paper

Accessories: Spellbinders (Kaleidoscope Pendant, Classic Large Circles), acetate sheet (for cloud template), Water Dew Drops, SU Linen Thread, CB ef

All you need is Love!

I absolutely adore the new Mother Teresa sets from ODBD! Mother Teresa's wisdom and humanitarian efforts transcends time and creed and I will definitely be reaching for these sets for a long time to come.

I based my card on this week's SFYTT and although I didn't tilt a panel (I can't seem to get myself to do that! LOL!) I kept all the elements in tact:

Card Recipe:

Stamp: ODBD Let Us Begin set

Ink: StazOn

Paper: SEI Jolie Chocolat pad, SU Basic Brown cs, white cs

Accessories: Silver ep, brown ep, white satin ribbon, foam adhesive, silver baubles, Spellbinders Flowers Impressabilities

PLEASE NOTE: ODBD is currently having website issues. I will add links to all ODBD supplies/stamp I used as soon as the issues are resolved.

Decked out in PURPLE for this week's SFYTT!

Okay, I USUALLY don't post on the weekends because hubby has the rule of "I'm only home on the weekends...so that means NO CRAFTING". Well, he's napping and snoring (quite loudly!), so I got to play. To him I say...NEENER NEENER NEEEEEENER!! LOL!

I played along with i{heart}2stamp's Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT):
I reached for my Basic Grey Wisteria pad that I got from Our Daily Bread designs and pulled out the purples. I added some splashes of SU Bashful Blue and came up with this little ditty: The flower was originally white and I spritzed it with Deep Plum Glimmer Mist. I also added the purple rhinestone in the center.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: ODBD Cross of Christ (cross) and Footprints in the Sand (scripture)

Ink: SU Eggplant Envy and Bashful Blue

Paper: Basic Grey Wisteria pad, Prism Simply Smooth white cs, SU Bashful Blue, Eggplant Envy and Pale Plum cs

Supplies: Deep Plum Glimmer Mist, Kaiser Scrapbook Lilac rhinestones, Victoria Lynn flower favor, white satin ribbon, Inkssentials white pen, SU photo corners punch, Tim Holtz Design Ruler, Pop-Its square adhesive

I finished this post just in time...hubby woke up and gave me the "look" so I'm signing off! Thanks for stopping by!

Another card sketch I played with!

I made this for the current SFYTT over at i{heart}2 stamp and I think I made it just under the wire!

This was the sketch:

And here's my take on it:I used ODBD Steel Blue and Bordeaux ink pads and the newly released In God We Trust set. If you don't already know, Kelley over at Our Daily Bread designs just came out with her own fantastic line of ink pads! She has 18 luscious colors to choose from and they are only $4.00!! The ink pads are made by the same company that manufactures Stampin' Up's line of ink pads, so you know you'll be getting a high quality product! If you'd like to be in-the-know on brand new stamp releases and product reviews, please stop on by the ODBD Blog and sign up for e-mail updates (found on the right hand side).

I'll be posting two cards tomorrow that are based on the current ODBD sketch challange. Make sure you participate for a chance to win one of three May stamp sets! All the info can be found HERE.

Also, May 12 is my ONE YEAR BLOGIVERSARY!!! You won't want to miss some FAB blog candy!
