Pearlized Mojo

McMahon Five Designs just released brand new digital images along with some yummy embellies so make sure to stop by the store and check them out!

I made a card using an older digi, but it’s still a winner in my book! I love the swirls in the Butterfly in Flight digi and thought it would be perfect for this week’s Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge #32 (use pearls) and the MOJO128 sketch:

M5D

I love being able to colorize the digis through Photoshop Elements…makes coordinating EASY and putting together a card FAST! You can manipulate the size, print off as many as you need and embellish to heart’s content. If you haven’t delved into the world of digis, then make sure to make McMahon Five Designs your first stop!

Card Recipe
Digi and Stamp: M5D Butterfly in Flight, SU Happy Harmony
Paper: K & Company Floral Dreams, SU cardstock (Mauve Mist, Sage Shadow)
Accessories: Kaisercraft Pearls, white gel pen, SU Linen Thread

Only four more days 'til Christmas!

Only four days left...hard to believe, isn't it? My boys are excited to attend Christmas mass and to spend it with family! I'll be keeping my posts short since I know many of you are also on a time crunch with all your holiday preparation so I'll just get right down to it.

I made this Peace & Joy card following this week's
MOJO118:

I heat embossed the snowflakes in white on Prism Metallic Bronze Ore cardstock. And YES! I did a lot of precision cutting on this, but it was sooooo worth it!

I hope you all finished mailing out your handmade Christmas cards! I know I did! WHEW!

Card Recipe:

Stamp: ODBD Peace & Joy

Ink: Versamark

Paper: Memory Box Dewfrost, SU Bordering Blue cs

Accessories: Ranger Silver ep, Bow-Easy, white ep, Fiskars All-A-Fleur border punch, Silver Rhinestones, light blue satin ribbon, SU silver cording, SU linen thread

Spreading some Flower Soft love!

Today's Try It Out Tuesday #37 (TIOT) from Susana's Custom Art and Card Designs was a Flower Soft challenge and I wanted to try something different. I had a 4x4 cardstock pack with adhesive backing that's been sitting in my craft room for a few months. I decided to punch out some butterflies and press them into some Flower Soft and got this using the MOJO105 sketch:Card Recipe:

Victoria Case for SCACD Stamp Co. RELEASED TODAY!

Well, the day has finally arrived! No more waiting on pins and needles...the brand new Victoria Case Hearts and Hugs Collection Series #2 for SCACD Stamp Co. is AVAILABLE TODAY!! You'll have 8 super cute stamps to choose from and if you can't decide then just grab them all :).

Today, I'm bringing you Autumn. She's adorably dressed just right for the coming season! The sketch from Mojo Monday (MOJOMARIA) inspired my card: This was my first time coloring hair black (go figure since I have black hair...minus the highlights). I've always been more comfortable coloring hair in browns, but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I used Liquid Applique on the pom-pons of Autumn's boots and the fringe of her scarf. If you haven't tried the stuff then you just have to! I'll be posting a little tutorial tomorrow on a new way of using Liquid Applique so make sure to come back to my blog and check it out.
Card Recipe:

Stamp: Autumn from Victoria Case Heart and Hugs Collection Series #2 for SCACD Stamp Co.

Ink: StazOn black, Walnut distress pad

Paper: DCWV Rustic Stack, SU cs (Close To Cocoa, Blue Bayou, Whisper White), watercolor paper

Accessories: Liquid Applique, Kaisercraft Blush Pearl, CB ef, Prima leaf, Fiskars All-A-Fleur border punch, brown grosgrain ribbon, watercolor markers

Now get thee to the SCACD store and grab up your VC stamps!

A red, white and blue TIOT #25!

Welcome to another TIOT for SCACD! With 4th of July just around the corner, we were challenged to use red, white and blue colors on our card. I don't own any patriotic images from SCACD so I emphasized using adorable Catherine from Anki's Sweethearts Series 1. I used this week's Mojo Monday Week 93 sketch and at first I was going to place Catherine in the middle of a star, but then decided she's looked better perched on it :).

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Young Catherine with Friends from Anki's Sweethearts Series 1

Ink: StazOn black

Paper: Karen Foster Designs, SU Real Red cs

Accessories: Spellbinders (Doodle Parts, Classic Large Rectangles, Classic Scallop Large Rectangles), Dress It Up Glitter Dots 14 Karat, Smooch Moonlight (on shirt flower and pants patch), watercolor paper, watercolor markers, Cricut machine, Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, Sticky Strips

Make sure to stop by July 2 for some exciting news from SCACD!

Midnight Mojo!

LOL! I thought it sounded great combining the two challenges I worked on through the night. I really should stop drinking so much caffeine at night because it's throwing me out of sync! I went to bed at almost 5 am and got up by 7:30 am to get my kiddos ready for school.

Here's my caffeine-induced card for the Mojo Week 87 sketch: Card Recipe:

Stamp: MFT Here's The Scoop

Ink: Memento Black

Paper: Basic Grey Urban Prairie pad, SU (Tempting Turquoise, Summer Sun), Prism Simply Smooth white, black cs

Supplies: Copics, pink buttons, black paper floss, Fiskars Threading Water border punch, Spellbinders dies (Small Scallop, Small Circles)
*****************************************************************************************

It was well past midnight and I still couldn't sleep so it was the perfect time to swing on over to the Midnight Madness blog to see if they had the next sketch up and sure enough, they did: It could have been the jitters, but it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do. After running a few laps around my house (just kidding!) I finally came up with this:

Card Recipe:

Stamp: SU Stipple Rose, ODBD Scripture Collection 1

Ink: Versamark, black Staz-On, Tim Holts Antique Linen distress pad

Paper: K & Company Classic K Margo pad, SU cs (Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla), Canson watercolor paper

Supplies: Gold Super Fine ep, white linen ribbon, Opalines (ODBD will soon have these wonderful pearls in the store!!!), watercolor markers, Fiskars Eyelet Lace border punch), mini bronze brads

Okay, my bed is calling me now...yawn, yawn, yawn...so I will add the card recipes sometime LATER. I'm just going to take a 5 hour nap!

White out...almost!

I wanted to make a very white card that relied heavily on dry embossing and I was able to do that with my Cuttlebug embossing folders and my Spellbinder dies. At first I wanted to white emboss the scripture, but when I added it to the card it didn't look quite right. Then I stamped it in black and it looked too plain. Then the words "EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL" jumped out at me and I just cut them out and popped them up.

I was able to work it into this week's Mojo85 sketch:

and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. And LOOK! No stitching!

Card Recipe:

Stamp: ODBD Scripture Collection 1

Ink: Versafine Onyx, Versamark

Paper: SU Whisper White cs, column cs

Supplies: Spellbinders Timeless Heritage and Flourish Accents dies, Cuttlebug Textile, Swiss Dots and Birds & Swirls embossing folders, white ep, Martha Stewart pearl, ball chain, Fiskars Apron Lace border punch, SU Crystal Effects (to keep ball chain in place)

Mojo73 challenge...and lack of sleep catching up with me!

Last night I was having a rough time trying to finish up a card for the current Mojo73 sketch and TLC111 over at SCS...or so I thought the SCS was current! I saw the Reverse Masking challenge and thought, okay, it's been some time since I did that technique, but I'll incorporate it into the Mojo card. While browsing through the SCS gallery I clicked on the TLC111 cards and noticed mine was the ONLY one for this year! It was a 2007 challenge!!! I couldn't help but laugh at myself. I also realized I need to start getting more sleep!

So, here is the Mojo73 sketch (now, this I'm sure about!): And here's my card created with the ANCIENT TLC111 challenge using Our Daily Bread Designs sets: Card Recipe:

Stamp: Our Daily Bread Designs I Am The Way & On Eagles' Wings

Ink: SU Brocade Blue, Pumpkin Pie & Summer Sun, Versamark

Paper: Making Memories Chloe's Closet pad, Prism Nautical Blue, SU Whisper White & Certainly Celery

Supplies: midnight blue and clear ep, orange organza ribbon, paper piercer, Nestabilities (used for masking), sewing machine, light blue thread, foam adhesive

On a completely different topic......

Last week, my hubby came home from work and as usual, he goes through the garage. After he unloaded his work gear he told me he really needed to head to the bathroom, but neede me to do him a favor. He said he couldn't find his other set of house keys and asked if I would check the van to see if he left them there. He then proceeded to run up the stairs. When I opened the door to the van I found these: As if this wasn't sweet enough, there was a little note next to the dozen roses:
I ran up the stairs to thank him and he was standing in our bathroom just waiting for me with a big 'ol smile! I was crying like a baby. He played it off and said "Who gave you those roses?? Should I be jealous?".
To have been together now for almost 12 years (married for 8) and to still have him do things like this....I'm a lucky girl!

I think I will take a much needed nap now!

Mojo Monday 72 Contest

I made this card for the Mojo Monday 72 contest using their sketch:

I broke out with a Stampin' Up set (it's been a while since I used any other stamp besides my indispensable ODBD sets!) for the sentiment and a tree branch stamp from Purple Onion Designs. I used Flower Soft on the branch because I've been wanting to do that for sometime now and finally got the chance!
