PUPPIES!!!

Unfortunately, our neighbor’s little poodle got into our yard a couple of months ago that resulted in five…5!!! puppies from Bella.  We hope to find new homes for each of them in time for them to enjoy Christmas with their new families AND Bella will be getting spayed as soon as that happens!

In the meantime, enjoy these adorable pictures Smile.

I thought I did a pretty good job keeping the neighbor’s dog away from her, but apparently not:

The cold season has hit the Kim Household, but I have another Glue Dots® project!

We’ve been hit with bad colds and just when we thought we were over it, we’re into Round Two!  My youngest is home again with another cold and I’m still as congested as ever!  But you know what they say…the show must go on!
Glue Dots® challenged us to create holiday gifts and I went back to my trusty Kusudama Ball, but I decided to make it even more personal and for my family.  I put together this Family Heirloom Kusudama ornament using photos of the all the children in the Kim and Abujen families as the center of the flowers:
I printed each picture on cardstock and punched them out using a 3/4” circle punch and attached them with Glue Dots® Pop-ups.
Each petal was attached with Glue Dots® Glue Lines.  Each five petal flower was then attached together with more Glue Lines.
Rubber stamp "Rejoice!" sentiment on oval and heat emboss with black powder.
You can find complete downloadable folding and assembly instructions HERE.

I hope you will give this project a try as it makes for a very unique holiday decoration for your home and a wonderful keepsake for your family to hand down from generation to generation.

Good to be back…and with a Glue Dots® project!

I was momentarily put on hold from blogging after our computer decided it had enough.  After a week later and a new desktop I am up and running once again!
I have been wanting to share my latest Glue Dots® project with you and I finally get to do that today…yay!
Stampin’ Up demonstrator Jackie Bolhuis shared an envelope pouch she created and I thought it was the coolest thing!  You can watch a video on how to make it HERE, but here’s my take on it…
(If you don’t want to open up an envelope and trace out a pattern you can just print one from HERE.)
This is what my finished pouch looks like with just a few minor tweeks from Jackie’s:

I decided to rubber stamp a sentiment to the other side of the pouch.
I tucked in 4 of my Go-To cookie recipes inside each pocket (photo doesn’t show pocket fully opened):
Print out the envelope template on 4 different prints of 8.5”x11” designer paper.  Print on the side that will be the inside of the envelopes because there is some printing on the template (if you look closely, I didn’t do that, but it’s barely noticeable due to the paper print).  Double-sided designer paper works and looks the best for this project.  Cut out your envelopes and ribbons to use as accents.  Adhere ribbon accents and assemble envelopes using Glue Dots® Continuous Lines and Permament Dot n Go:
Cut a 8”x1.5” strip from leftover designer paper, punch one end using a corner rounder and attach as shown below:
Attach the other 3 envelopes flap to flap using Glue Dots® Minis.  I recommend watching Jackie’s video to see how to attach the envelopes:
What the other side looks like when attacked correctly:
I used a metal bookplate to hold the paper strip closure in place instead of a strip of paper that was cut out with the SU word window punch:
As you can see from the first photo that I matted the strip with cardstock to give it more weight so that it would remain closed when inserted through the bookplate “clasp”.
I printed out the recipes from AllRecipes.com at 3”x5” and matted on 4”x6” cardstock.
I hope you give this project a go because it sure does make a great gift for teachers and neighbors!

Card requests

Sister Angie is in charge of religious education at our parish that my sons attend every Tuesday and she found out that I make scripture cards.  She contacted me and asked if I would be willing to make her a few cards for upcoming celebrations and I was more than happy to create them for her.  I made several to give to her and here are just a few extras that I made for others:

Can you tell I LOVE my pearls, rhinestones and dimension?  I really love to pop up panels to give my cards more depth.  I dropped off Sister Angie’s cards and she just requested a few more.  It’s a great feeling that my cards are going to those who appreciate scriptures!

You can find all these scripture stamps from one fabulous place…Our Daily Bread designs!

Bloody good treats!

It’s a holiday and that means TREAT TIME!  For this Halloween I baked up these ooey, gooey, sinful babies:

Halloween 001

Those are RED VELVET COOKIES and they are “to die for”!  I followed THIS recipe, altered a tag I found HERE, created a label for the treat bag and now they are ready to be handed out to my sons’ teachers:

Halloween 002

These cookies are so good that even a Ninja tried to fight me for them!  Just kidding!  That’s my son Evan and he looks so cool!

Happy Halloween everyone!!
