Good to be back…and with a Glue Dots® project!

I was momentarily put on hold from blogging after our computer decided it had enough.  After a week later and a new desktop I am up and running once again!
I have been wanting to share my latest Glue Dots® project with you and I finally get to do that today…yay!
Stampin’ Up demonstrator Jackie Bolhuis shared an envelope pouch she created and I thought it was the coolest thing!  You can watch a video on how to make it HERE, but here’s my take on it…
(If you don’t want to open up an envelope and trace out a pattern you can just print one from HERE.)
This is what my finished pouch looks like with just a few minor tweeks from Jackie’s:

I decided to rubber stamp a sentiment to the other side of the pouch.
I tucked in 4 of my Go-To cookie recipes inside each pocket (photo doesn’t show pocket fully opened):
Print out the envelope template on 4 different prints of 8.5”x11” designer paper.  Print on the side that will be the inside of the envelopes because there is some printing on the template (if you look closely, I didn’t do that, but it’s barely noticeable due to the paper print).  Double-sided designer paper works and looks the best for this project.  Cut out your envelopes and ribbons to use as accents.  Adhere ribbon accents and assemble envelopes using Glue Dots® Continuous Lines and Permament Dot n Go:
Cut a 8”x1.5” strip from leftover designer paper, punch one end using a corner rounder and attach as shown below:
Attach the other 3 envelopes flap to flap using Glue Dots® Minis.  I recommend watching Jackie’s video to see how to attach the envelopes:
What the other side looks like when attacked correctly:
I used a metal bookplate to hold the paper strip closure in place instead of a strip of paper that was cut out with the SU word window punch:
As you can see from the first photo that I matted the strip with cardstock to give it more weight so that it would remain closed when inserted through the bookplate “clasp”.
I printed out the recipes from AllRecipes.com at 3”x5” and matted on 4”x6” cardstock.
I hope you give this project a go because it sure does make a great gift for teachers and neighbors!
