Just a quick and simple post. Aren't you glad you don't have to read too much? The snowman card is a slider...pull one end and another panel slides out!

Call these cards "somewhat interactive"

I've been fiddling around with a new card line for my little shop...something different from my regular cards. I came up with these little cards and call them my Beyond Cards Collection. Each card will feature messages tucked inside enclosures like vellum envelopes or bands or whatever else I can think up!

The second card shows a "crinkled ribbon" that I learned from Laurie Wilson. She is the design team coordinator for Clear Dollar Stamps and also designs a line for them! Thank you for the inspiration Laurie!

Ok...so I failed!! PLUS I'm adding to the blog candy!

So much for doing equal amounts of card and layouts! I succeeded...for only a day! Maybe I was biting off more than I could chew, so I'm thinking at least one layout a week (going to shoot for two!). Sounds a little more realistic for me at the moment. I was able to crank out several cards and TWO layouts. I rely heavily on TallyScrapper challenges to kick my butt into gear!

This was a special order from an Etsy customer. She asked for LOTS of LAVENDER and that's what she's getting! I was playing with different shapes, rather than using straight lines all the time.

Holiday cards...don't you just love making them?!?!
There's a challenge over at TallyScrapper created by Top Tally herself, Christine! This was my take on it. We had to use purple and green, stitching, a tree and black and white photos. I freehand cut the tree and the leaves are cut up Prima flowers. And YES, I made my sons' costumes! I'm making costumes for them again this year! I can't tell you what or who they're going to be just yet...I'll save that for a future layout :).
The challenge also required us to use our left over scraps to make a card.
This layout took on a life of its own. I couldn't stop adding to it. Everytime I looked at it I thought it needed more "lines" and so there they are...LOTS OF LINES!

How's everyone coming along with the stitch witchery (also known as fusible webbing)? Hopefully you can find them at your local fabric store. So far there has been only one entry! Looks like I'm going to have to up the ante...I'm adding a BIG wood mounted stamp to go along with the crackle paints!! The stamp image goes perfectly with the paints - very vintage. So get cracking! No pun intended...hahahaha!

Trying to work with both! And blog candy deadline...

When it comes to scrapping and cardmaking I either work heavily on one and let the other suffer. I'm trying to balance that out and so far so good....for the past 2-3 days anyways! I figure if I make a card I have to do a layout and vice versa. Let's see how long I last doing that!

Here are two cards and two layouts I worked on. And YES! My craft room is a disaster zone right now!! I'm also bad at putting things away. It's unbelievable, but I can still find pretty much everything quickly...with a few "frustrating" words yelled out if I can't find it fast enough :).




The stitch witchery card blog candy deadline is Sept. 1 so there's plenty of time! I haven't gotten any comments/cards for it yet, so I hope you are all working on it :). Happy Wednesday everyone!

Halloween and a blog award!

Aside from Christmas cards I love making Halloween cards! I went through my stash of rubber stamps (and I do have LOTS!) and pulled out all my holiday sets. I made a Christmas card already so I figured why not a Halloween one. The set I used is a retired set from The Angel Company called Little Goblins. The printed flocked papers I won over at my FAVORITE place, TallyScrapper a while ago. You should check out that place...always lots going on (contests for scrapbook layouts, cards, recipes, altered items, photography) and the FRIENDLIEST people you'll ever "meet".

I accented with white fun flock, paper glaze, watercolor and a mini flatback pearl.

I had a blast giving away my first blog candy!!! L-Bee....your package is on it's way! I was also pleasantly surprised by Monique, a fellow Clear Dollar Stamp design team member, when she awarded me this blog bling!

I am off to bed...it was the first day back at school for my sons so it was a crazy morning! I was able to do 4 loads of laundry, slow cook BBQ ribs (my hubby's favorite), and clean my house. I am beat!

New cards and puppy update

I love lighthouses so I decided to create a new card featuring one :). As always I did a lot of machine stitching and used adhesive gems by K & Company. I bought a few things at Jo-Ann's and found a hardware set that just screamed "BUY ME! BUY ME!" and so I did! The mirror cardstock was the perfect partner for them.


Our adorable puppies are now 4 weeks old and are eating canned puppy food. I wish I could keep them all, but I can't. They are looking for a family to love them! They are a mix of shih tzu, lhasa apso and maltese. They will be about 6-8 pounds full grown. If you live in San Diego or Riverside counties please contact me if you are interested. They will be ready to go to their new homes at the end of August.

These are my fur babies - also known as the parents! Daisy (Mom) is 6 lbs. and Samson (Dad) is 8 lbs.

Creating to distract myself...

My hubby's dad has been in the hospital for 2 weeks now and will be having his biopsy on Wednesday...please keep him in your prayers!

I've been driving back and forth to San Diego to visit him and to help keep his spirits up. His family is so supportive of him and of each other. I am BLESSED to be a part of it.

Making cards was a nice distraction. My posts will be short because everything is so hectic right now. Love and blessings to all!!
