It’s the little things…

It’s summertime and to us So Cal residents it usually means BEACH TIME! I grew up in San Diego so I had several beaches to choose from to lounge on the sand and soak up the sun or walk around the shoreline and take in the saltwater air. We’ve moved a little over an hour away from San Diego and now I know I had taken those beaches for granted. At least those beautiful beaches are still close enough for my family to enjoy!

I started to reminisce about those beaches after seeing one of McMahon Five Designs’ new digital image called Serene Sunset and best of all…IT’S ALREADY COLORED (there’s also one that isn’t colored)!!

Here’s a little photo I snapped of my sons getting ready to get in the ocean at Del Mar North Beach a couple of weeks ago:

Since it was a dog beach we also brought along our Eli. He’s still a pup at 6 months…a HUGE PUP at almost 60 lbs.!:

Let’s get quilling AND my blogoversary candy winner!

Fun with quilling! I know! Who would have thought I’d do some quilling, especially since I’ve heard it is so time consuming. BUT, Cuttlebug came up with a way to do some quilling that takes no time at all and so I just HAD to HAVE all three sets!

ODBD 128

I used my new Cuttlebug Quilled Kits to add lots of floral dimension by just running them through my machine and the flowers really made the verses from the Scripture Series 1 set pop!

Doesn’t it look like I spent hours making those flowers?! I LOVE IT!! Just by cutting more or less of the flower quilling die you can very the size and fullness of your flowers. The quilled flowers with swirly Zva Creative pearls also accented the Spellbinders Lattice Pendant die beautifully!

New ODBD Shining the Light challenge is up!

ODBDSLC16, that the newest challenge posted by the ODBD Challenge Team and it’s a sketch so stop by the ODBD Blog, check it out and join in on the fun…you just may win a prize!

I used Psalm 73:26 from the beautifully created Scripture Series 1 set for my challenge card:

ODBDSLC16

Can you believe I used the same Martha Stewart border punch for the decorative center strip as the frame? All I did was punch one end of cardstock, measured 1” from the punched edge and cut. Then I punched the border on the opposite end to create an intricate pattern! Pretty neat, huh? Try it with other border punches and you’ll get nothing but gorgeous results!

We want to see your card so head on over and link them up!

Other Challenges for this card:

Your Next Stamp Challenge - #17 Use Border Punch

Polka Doodles – Week 21 Challenge Sew and Sew

Pixie Dust Studios – Challenge #25 Punch It Out

Magical Crafts – Use Metal

Caardvaarks – Use wet and/or dry embossing

God stands forever!

LOOKING FOR MY BLOGOVERSARY CANDY? FIND IT HERE!

**********************************************************

My faith in God may be tested at times, especially during times when it seems like there is no light at the end of a very dark road. It may be tested BUT my faith is NEVERENDING and that is why I so love it when Kelley releases more scriptures in her stamp sets because it brings my heart back to God with even more fervor!

Isaiah 40:8 is a powerful scripture from the Scripture Series 1 set and I knew I wanted to use it as the main focus of my card:

Isaiah 40-8

Thank you for stopping by today and taking the time to read my post and view my card. May SMILES and BLESSINGS always surround you!
